The Open Data Institute – Dubai (ODI-Dubai) has conducted it’s first pulic Open Data Training course, which is the first of its kind in the region.
The course was delivered in cooperation with Mohammed in Rashid School of Government and after a few weeks of the announcement of the Dubai Data Law,
The 2-days executive training which took place in Dubai on 13th and 14th of December was attended by more than thirty of the government employees from various government departments and organizations in Dubai and the UAE.
The training was delivered jointly by Ibrahim Elbadawi (Managing Partner) who is the first Arabic speaking Open Data Registered trainer by the Open Data Institute in the UK and Dr. Yasar Jarrar (Partner). The ODI-Dubai has developed the curriculum of this training program building on the original materials of the ODIHQ in London.
The various course sessions where highly interactive and covered a wide range of topics including the basic concepts of data management, the linkage between open data and smart city/government initiatives and discussions on how to practically launch and manage data related initiatives.
Mr. Abdullah Al Madani chairman of Dubai Open Data Committee joined the program as a guest speaker where he explained the various aspects of the Dubai Data announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed is Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
